Spelling Story

Spelling Story

Okay, so in my certain Spelling curriculum everytime I get a word wrong it makes me say the word, look at the word, say the word again then spell the word with my eyes closed, spell out the word in the air with my finger, then spell it again, and then write a sentence using the word. How boring. So I've come up with thi story that I use my words in. Instead of writing one sentence using that word I now write a whole paragraph that holds all of my words in it. So here is the words I have so far missed in th past week or so:

principal
analyze
fundamental
noticeable
parallel
dormitories
assemblies
friendliest
and obituaries
And here is the story I have made using them:
Part I
Notes and Red Beards
"This will be a great fundamental experience for us all." Ms. Vonhorghts or Ms. Vonworts (which is what my friend and I call her) said with a little too-big-for-comfort fake smie. I exchanged anxious and worried looks with my friend Prosper who sat parallel to me. I quickly scribbled on a paste-it-note and held it up for him to see. It read: "Her fake grin is too noticeable, she's up to something." Prosper nodded. But unfortunatley our exchange was spotted by the tattle-taler-her-perfectfullness Miss Carmelita Spats and her hooligans. She quickly raised her hand and at the same time flashed Prosper and me a malicious grin, I groaned.

Ms. Vonworts smied when she saw Carmelita's hand raised. "Yes Miss Spats?" She asked while she smiled her creepy grin.
Carmelita stood up pure innocence masking her hideou face. "Ms. Knightley," (that's me) "has a note ma'am." She smiled her wicked grin showing her rows of a little too white pearly teeth (oh how those bug me) at me and haughtily sat down.
Ms. Vonworts gave me the haneous smile that she gives her students before they are sent to Principal Ernesto Barbarossa (the fat red dyed bearded pig). "Ms. Knightley, would you like to share anything with the class?"
End of part I
October 24 Level I Group 32
Words I missed:
dormitories
Part II
Well after I shared my note with the class I was given a free ticket to Principal Ernesto Barbarossa's office. There, once again I was given the 'how I should be grateful that they took me and that if I didn't do better they would have no choice but to send me to the dormitories and classrooms of the Charity Retraining Academy for Orphans' for the umpteenth time of my life since I began my life here. Only a few children from our Orphanage had ever been sent there. We all call it Nightmare Academy ad boy is it just that. I'm sure that I will be sent there since I am such a trouble maker, but I can't help it, it's in my soul. Nightmare Academy was given it's name beause a long time ago a girl actually escaped. She came here because she had no other home (I think that was rather stupid of her). She was sent back immediatley after she was found, but unfortunately for the teachers she had already been able to tell the truth about Charity Retraining Academy for Orphans.
Oops, Igotta go. I'll finish the story later.

Always in a hurry,

I found this way cool site: http://www.thequietworld.com/ that has everything you could EVER
want to know about 'A Series of Unfortunate Events'. And today it posted some questions that fans have asked and Lemony Snickets reply. Here they are:

21 Answers from Lemony Snicket!

They're here! Daniel Handler/Lemony Snicket has answered the 21 questions posed by ASoUE Fans. My personal favorites:

1. Captain Widdershins's personal philosophy was "He who hesitates is lost." What is your personal philosophy? - Libitina

“Never refuse a breath mint.”9.

If an apple a day keeps the doctor away then what fruit would best keep away persistent realtors? Would you suggest something heavy like a watermelon or something easy to throw like a grapefruit? - Charlotte

The durian is a fruit produced by a plant pollinated by flies. To attract its pollinators the flowers of the plant smell like rotten meat. You can imagine how dreadful the fruit smells, particularly if ripe and damp. In many countries where the durian is available it is illegal to carry it onto public transportation. I once had a piece of candied durian and it still felt like a zombie meal. I imagine having durians around the house would cause property values to plummet, and realtors would no longer be interested.

Daniel Handler also hinted at possible future ASoUE books:

11. What was the darkest hour in the lives of the Baudelaire orphans? Please keep in mind that "darkest" here means "most woeful," not "lacking in light," and hour is not a literal measurement of time in this case. - Philip Jucker

I suspect their most woeful hour is yet to come.

13. Will information on the sugar bowl, the Great Unknown, what became of the Quagmires, the fate of the Baudelaires, or even the truth behind V.F.D. ever be disclosed, or is it left up to the readers to draw their own conclusions? Do you know all of the answers? - Dupin

If readers draw their own conclusions and speak of such conclusions out loud, then this information will indeed be disclosed; otherwise one might wait for more Snicket books, which would likely contain shrouded answers and further frustrations.

21 Questions with Lemony Snicket!

A special message from 667 Dark Avenue In honor of 667 Dark Avenue's Fifth Anniversary (June 22), the forum has been granted a rare opportunity to communicate with Lemony Snicket himself. Mr. Snicket and his legal representative, Daniel Handler, have agreed to answer twenty-one questions posted by the members of 667. In order to create the most clever and compelling questionnaire possible, we hope the entire online community of Unfortunate Events fans will contribute by submitting their best question at Dark Avenue. Each registered user of 667 Dark Avenue is entitled to submit one question. Twenty winning questions will be referred to Daniel Handler, and the best question of all will make its way to Lemony Snicket. We will be considering questions from now through Monday, June 25. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Handler and Mr. Snicket's answers will be posted on 667 Dark Avenue, and the one lucky winner will receive a hand-written reply to his or her question by Mr. Snicket himself. Consolation prizes will be sent to the writers of the other winning questions. In addition, we have set up many challenges and festivities in honor of A Series of Unfortunate Events . Fabulous prizes will be given to contest winners, including a first edition copy of The Bad Beginning, signed copies of The Grim Grotto, bookplates stamped and dated by Lemony Snicket, and much more. Our contests are designed to reward the most talented and devoted fans. Submissions will be accepted through the weekend. The contests open on the listed date; they will close on Sunday evening, June 24. Please submit your entries before that date.

I wold LOVE to win that contest! Too bad it's over:(

Do you know what I mean?

Unnapreciated

I found this on a friend's blog & had to post it. "

What's it like to be unappreciated? It feels like you're not good enough. That nobody really cares. That all your hard work was for nothing. That you're of little value. What do you do when this feeling overwhelms you? Cry. Become angry. Become depressed. Pull within yourself. Stop giving. Become bitter. I have. I've done all of those...but you know what doing all those things did to me? It made me a sad, angry, depressed, withdrawn, selfish, bitter person. Nobody really wants to be like that do they? I know I don't. And I don't want to hang around somebody like that either. And being like that fixes nothing.So...what should we do? "...fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith," (Hebrews 12:2) because He is the One we should be trying to please. Not our peers, not our parents, not our boyfriend or girlfriend, not our friends, not the people we look up to. Only God. Because He's the only one big enough to fill the void inside of you. You'll never be happy living your life for others. Live for Him and impressing everyone else, or receiving praise from everyone else won't seem quite so important anymore. "

I hope that helps you,

My Cell Phone

O Monday my Mom and Dad went out on a date, and they left my and older sister, Luthien, (not real name) and I in charge while they were out. We put the little kids to bed early and then turned on Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, which is one of our all time favourite movies. Finally our parents got home around 10:00 p.m. They immediately showed us their new phones and then Dad showed us a extra cell. We asked whose it was and he said that it was Luthien's and Mine to share! We were quite ecstatic. It's a black razor that takes pictures. But Dad said that we can only have it when we have to go somewhere by ourselves so that if any 'complications' come up we can call them. I'm very excited. To celebrate recieving a cell phone I created a Meez that is talking on a cell phone, here she is:

(I don't really look like this, but I just thought that she looked cute:)

My Mythological Creature

You scored as Mermaid. Mermaid: Mermaids are also known as Sirens. These creatures were beautiful women who tricked sailors into becoming completely entranced by their haunting voices and found death soon after. Not all stories of Mermaids are about gentle loving sea people. They are mystical, magical, and extremely dangerous. They have a way about them that brings anyone they are around to seem enchanted. They are very mysterious creatures and to meet one... Would mean certain Death. Let the song of the Sea fill your soul, for you are a Mermaid.

Ex Libris of Enchantment

I'm writing a book right now and I rather wanted your opinion, please tell me what you think
it is horribly terrible and ghastly boring, here it is:

Ex Libris
of
Enchantment

Chapter one,
The Moon Finding

Lakshmi raced through the forest, trying to keep back the stream of tears until she reached her safe haven in the forest outside of her small village. She knew that when she found her secret place, by the moss waterfall, that she would find comfort.

She finally arrived at the waterfall that fell from the mountains. It was a skinny and small waterfall, Lakshmi had picked this place to be her haven because she knew that it was too far for the farmers to reach her, she knew that they were all afraid of the great forest, Onocke, to come as far as the waterfall. The waterfall was soft enough that even for a elf it would be difficult to hear. Lakshmi only came to the waterfall when she had to escape from everything.

The reason she went to the waterfall was because it soothed her and helped her clear her mind of disturbing and distressing thoughts. The reason she had left the village seeking for peace today was because her brother, Drangjane, had just left to find a job in another village that was over thirty leagues away! Lakshmi had ten brothers and sisters, six sisters including herself, and four brothers. Out of all her brothers she had the strongest relationship with Drangjane. Why she enjoyed him so much was because he was the most like herself, beside Moonling who was her twin, but there was something so wonderful about her brother Drangjane that separated him from all the rest of her siblings, out of all of them, he and Moonling were the only ones that would go Maying with her, he and Moonling were also the only siblings that had gone faerie hunting.

Of course they had to do those things in secret because their parents said that it was folly to go wasting ones time when they should be back at the farm helping with their family getting things ready for harvest, especially when things like Maying are terribly silly, and creatures like faeries don’t really exist!

Drangjane had left that morning, he had not told her until last night, around the fire outside of there house under the almost full moon, not wanting to make her sad in advance because he knew that she would of done something to stop him from going. One of her weaknesses, he knew, was her feelings and emotions toward people, sometimes she would let only her feelings control her, then all her knowledge and sense was gone and she would do things that later she would regret, but she would never admit to it. He knew that someday someone would teach her to keep control of her feelings, but that day still had yet come. Lakshmi had been very heart broken that he had not told her sooner, she felt like one of the only people she could trust and visa versa had not trusted her and was doubtful about her. This seemed to crush her even more than Drangjane leaving. She felt very depressed and cold when it came time to say good-bye to her dear and trusted brother, but even though a thousand emotions swirled inside of her threatening to escape she hid her feelings and did not shed one single tear when Drangjane hugged her and kissed her cheek.

She had noted that this seemed to make Drangjane sad, but she did not really mind at the moment. All she could think about was how Drangjane had doubted her, and for this, she knew, would make a barrier between her and her brother the next time they met. She was sad for this reason but would not even admit it to herself, for fear of letting her emotions before she reached the moss waterfall.

She finally heard the peaceful splash of the waterfall, and was relieved when, she raced through a small opening in a rock wall, and found herself at the foot of the moss waterfall. She let herself fall on the lichen, mossy, and flower covered ground by the water. Then, without holding anything back, she let tears of bitterness, regret, pain, fear, loneliness, doubt, and unfriendly coldness fall from her eyes. She sobbed, and cursed under her breath until, she felt dry, cold, and weak. Her limbs were shaking with passion by the time she stopped. Shaking, she tried to stand up, but felt to exhausted to move, so she lay there for what it seemed, forever. She tried to get her thoughts off Drangjane for she knew that if she thought about him anymore she would begin to cry even harder, and from her state right then she knew that she would probably make herself faint.

So she began to distract herself from her feelings and let her mind wander. She first tried to concentrate on a flower that was next to her, but to no avail, for the flower made her remember one summer dance when Drangjane had made her a flower crown out of the same kind of flower. She then felt one salty tear fall down her cheek and land on the palm of her hand, she quickly brushed the tear away and tried to concentrate on another flower.

This flower seemed very different from the others, almost unreal. She stared at it until the light began to fade, she knew that she must go, but still felt reluctant to. Still gazing at the flower, she was standing up and was about to turn around when the flower moved. She knew it had not been the wind for there was none, and nothing had pushed it. So she knelt down and picked the flower. It did not even seem to be attached to the earth for as soon as she put her hand around it, it just seemed to let go. Lakshmi held the flower for awhile in the palm of her hand, inspecting it. It looked just like a flower, but there was something that made it peculiar.

She tried to figure it out, but the light was now too dim, she stepped out from under the shadows and into the last rays of warmth before the sun fell from view, at first there wasn’t a change at all, but as she looked even closer she saw that instead of a stem, there was a small body! Excited, Lakshmi lifted the petals of the flower to find a faerie!

The faerie seemed smaller than the storytellers had said, Lakshmi decided that it must be a very young faerie and not fully grown. The faerie was a girl, she was pale and she had a very good figure. Her dress was made of forget-me-not petals, that were very beautiful on her. Her wings were silver, with small butterfly designs on them, her small face had two very luminous purple eyes that looked quite frantic and frightened at the moment, but could of easily looked elegant and bewitching under different circumstances. The faerie had blonde, almost white hair, that was filled with curls which she shook vigorously, her hair was done in some enchanting and foreign style, she had small flowers and jewels woven into her hair, which reflected off the moon that had just risen, it was a full moon, so moon beams danced all around the two girls who were staring into each others eyes, neither of them willing to break the others gaze, making the whole scene even more enchanting.

They could of stayed there forever if the faerie had not begone to let tears fall down her face. The faerie tried to wipe them away and return her gaze into Lakshmi’s jade green eyes, but to no avail. She then began to hopelessly sob, through gasps of breath. Lakshmi, not sure of what to do began to gently stroke her wings and hair. For awhile the faerie ignored the kind gesture, but after sometime passed by, the faerie began to let go of her mind and let her conscious touch Lakshmi’s.

At first Lakshmi felt vulnerable, but after awhile she allowed the faerie to come into to her mind and conscious, reasoning that such a small creature could do her no real harm. There minds touched and the faerie asked:

Well, aren't you going to kill me?Of course not. Why on earth would I kill the only faerie I’ve ever seen?

The faerie took a very long breath after that sentence for as you know faerie’s are so small that a long sentence will leave them quite out of breath, so you have to be very patient when you talk to a faerie.

You can’t make me tell you! Many a human have captured me but I have always escaped without them even knowing how old I am!

To this Lackshmi replied:

Well you can tell me your name if you-

Certainly not! Besides, it is no matter to you.

The faerie scoffed to Lakshmi.

Well fine then, I’ll just tell you what MY name is, though, you know that it is scathingly rude to let someone else tell their name and you refuse to tell yours, especially since you WHERE the first to say something. I mean to say YOU should know that since EVERYBODY is taught those basic manners.

Lakshmi said in a little heated vioce, it felt good to know that she knew SOMETHING more than such a beautiful creature.

Of course I know THAT! I’m a- Well? You’re a what? Well fine then, if I’m not to know WHAT you are, or WHAT your name is I might as well tell you MY name and WHAT I am. My name is Lakshmi Vainl. I am the Daughter of Torn Vainl, and I am a Herbalist in training.

YOU’RE a Herbalist?

The faerie asked rather doubtfully. At the word "Herbalist the fearie had turned her head and was staring at Lakshmi. Lakshmi did not notice and continued on talking.

Well yes. Well rather I’m going to be one, in a few years that is. See Gertrude, she is the town tea maker and herbalist, is training me because my family lives rather far from town and it is hard for her to walk so far just to check on us, and so she said that she would teach me so I could take care of my family, and also she said something about that I had promising in me or something around those lines, I can’t quite remember because it was so many years ago that she started mentoring me. But I have had such a wonderful time since she started teaching me about remedies, mushrooms, mosses, lichens, and herbs. It is as if she gave me a golden key to a enchantingly wonderful fantasy land. I have found that there is so much more to life!

Now it was Lakshmi's turn to be quite out of breath.

She sounds like an interesting character.

The faerie committed. Sounding just a little bit amused.

Oh she is! She’s wonderful! She’s always understanding and kind, and she seems like she quite never really grew up, well in a way.

Lakshmi said while she imagined when Gertrude had stayed up on a full moon cool Summer’s night trying to see a faerie.Lakshmi felt a little flushed after sharing so much of her feelings to a total stranger when she would not even confide that information to her dear sister!Yes, I think

She never really grew up at all.

But this time she did not really say it to the faerie, but merily repeating the sentence in her mind.

Me, Myself, and I

Myself, I wonder how I can explain 'myself' but the right words leave me. I suppose, that is if you wanted to believe, I am a tween in flesh but I still feel more like a child. Unfortnaetly I am sure I will grow out of it eventually as all people do, but I hope I still have a while longer. I guess the best way for you to begin to make my acquaintence (I'm not quite sure that that's the way you spell it) is to show my pionts of view on common subjects. I'm not exactly sure though what subject I shouldtalk about, I guess Life will do,after all, it is a very extremely common subject. (But definitley not a boring one!) The way I think of Life is this: Adults are always (or almost always) saying how they wish that they were young again. Tht always begins to confuse me because I know that almost everysingle parent I know is always saying how they wish that their children acted more grown up and more mature and it seems that they especially say that they wish that their children were older so they could do certain things and such. That si why at the beginning of my post I wrote: "I am a tween in flesh but I still feel more like a child." I wrote that because I believ that children should be allowed to grow at their own pace and time. Even though the world says mentaly and physically I should act and be and feel like a tween, I just don't think it's my time yet to move on to dating boys, and working a job, and driving a automobile and all that drama. I am more than enchanted to be the way I am and the way I 'mentaly' think. I have enough trauma as it is being a kid, and even though it is 'exciting' at sometimes, but on the whole I don't seriously belive I could take anymore. And I also like to (this is going to sound very rebelious and fiesty but it's the truth,) make people put a label on me for being strange. I like being utterly unique and individual. I don't think I could stand to be somebody else then who I am. I want to be somebody who goes through life not really caring about what other people think of me but only caring about what I think about myself and making sure that I am nothing less than original. I see it as when people try to change their ways to be like somebody else, all their doing is hurting themselves and not being able to reflect who they are, and basically their not living their dream their own way. My dream is my dream and I am going to live it my way. Somebody once said: "I dn't know a good way to die, but I do know a grand way to live." (Now I don't know who said that but I liked it.) I guess 've lectured you enough about what I think of Life. I mean, everyone has their own way of thinking about how their going to live Life, I just rather wanted to give my point of view. I usually don' go giving tha speech around but I just thought that was thebest subject to talk about. My friend's and I always say: "Life is short, we're going to live it our way and enjoy it."
